Due to the events of September 11, 2001, we are required to follow certain necessary security measures. Naval Station Norfolk has been extremely amenable to the continuation of the event but must first consider the interest of the United States Navy and its purpose of national security. To that end, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE AN OFFICIAL GATE PASS TO ENTER THE BASE ON RACE DAY. This will be accomplished by placing two vehicle passes in each participant's race packet which he or she may use as they see fit (i.e. individual use or use by family or friends coming separately to spectate). IT IS, THEREFORE, MANDATORY THAT RACE PACKETS BE PICKED UP BEFORE RACE DAY. If you cannot pick up your packet (all participants MUST pick up their own packets) at packet pick-up on either Friday, May 31st or Saturday, June 1st, or if you cannot make arrangements with the race director BEFORE MAY 14, 2013 to receive passes (NOT YOUR PACKET) by mail, THEN PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO ADMITTANCE TO THE BASE WITHOUT THE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE PASS OR MILITARY DECALS ON YOUR VEHICLE.
