Norfolk, VA --After a year hiatus, the only triathlon in the Hampton Roads area is back! The 24th Breezy Point Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, May 31 at Naval Station Norfolk.
The event is known for being one of the safest triathlon venues in Hampton Roads. It is held entirely within the confines of Naval Station Norfolk which has minimal traffic on a Sunday morning. “The RACE on the BASE” is very popular among new and first time triathletes. The manageable distances include a 750 meter swim, a 20k (12.4 mi) bike and a 5k run. The race culminates in a post-race party and awards banquet for all.
The race is put on by the Tidewater Striders, the largest running and multisport club in the area. The Striders donate a generous portion of the proceeds to a charity on the Naval Station.
